City of London Corporation

International Definition of Antisemitism

The Corporation has adopted the International Definition of Antisemitism in full, including all of its examples.

The Definition was adopted on 5th December 2019.

The Corporation has told Campaign Against Antisemitism that it does apply the Definition in disciplinary matters.

The Corporation has incorporated the Definition into its Members’ Code of Conduct.

This information was obtained after Campaign Against Antisemitism submitted a request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 on 21st July 2021, to which the Corporation responded on 18th August 2012.

As part of its response, the Corporation provided minutes of the Court of Common Council meeting on 5th December 2019, which show that the Definition was adopted.

Incidents

No incidents relating to the Council’s officials or councillors have been reported to us, however we recognise that antisemitism is chronically underreported and it is possible that there are incidents that have not been reported. To report an incident, please contact us.
