Antisemitism in Local Authorities

Stafford Borough Council

International Definition of Antisemitism

The Council has not adopted the International Definition of Antisemitism.

On 27th September 2021, the Council provided minutes of a meeting on 18th April 2019, which show the Council considered adoption of the International Definition of Antisemitism and rejected adoption of the Definition in favour of a general statement against racism.

We have searched the Council’s website and the public domain but have not found any reference to adoption of the International Definition of Antisemitism.

Campaign Against Antisemitism submitted a request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 on 13th August 2021 to which the Council responded on 27th September 2021, confirming that the Council had not adopted the International Definition of Antisemitism.

A renewed request was submitted on 3rd May 2022. As at 12th August 2022 the Council has not responded.
