CAA Security Officer

Campaign Against Antisemitism (CAA) is the UK’s leading organisation fighting antisemitism nationwide. As the foremost organisation taking a stand against antisemitism and anti-Jewish hatred, we face unique security challenges that differ from those of other charities. We require a Security Officer to ensure that security requirements are met across our organisation and make sure that all of our dedicated volunteers and events that we hold are safe.

As Security Officer you will:

  • Organise security for our office, events, protests and rallies, ensuring that security teams are adequately staffed, organised and informed;
  • Help to build and maintain our contacts among security volunteers so that adequate teams can be formed at short notice and be ready to react quickly to changing circumstances;
  • Assist with screening new volunteers; and
  • Initiate and maintain relationships with relevant Jewish organisations and local police contacts.


Applicants for this position must be confident and effective leaders, capable of coordinating and managing larger teams in tense situations. Applicants must be aware of the unique security challenges faced by CAA and dedicated to providing effective security for our charity, potentially undertaking work at short notice and consistently seeing assigned tasks through to completion. Although no particular professional background is required for applicants for this position, candidates with a background in security, policing, IT or defence are particularly sought.

Applicants must be organised and good at prioritising a given workload. They must be articulate and able to present information and evidence in a useful manner. The applicants should be able to use critical thinking to assess how best to proceed with a given case.

Most importantly, the applicants should be passionate about confronting antisemitism in all walks of life.

Compliance officer
Campaign Against Antisemitism (CAA) is the UK’s leading organisation fighting antisemitism nationwide and aims to be up-to-date and compliant with all Government-issued documentation pertaining to regulation of charities, employers and data governance. We are seeking a volunteer Compliance Officer to assist our Compliance Unit in ensuring that we continue to remain compliant with all available guidance in this area. As a Compliance Officer, you will work closely with our Compliance Unit led by our Head of Compliance, reviewing regulatory requirements and the processes and policies that we rely upon to comply with our duties as a charity, employer and processor of personal identifiable information. As a volunteer Compliance Officer you will:
  • Maintain an awareness of Government-issued guidelines pertaining to data governance and the operations of charities and employers;
  • Produce documents and materials to highlight compliance issues as they relate to CAA and our expanding operations; Work closely with the Compliance Unit, Systems Unit, General Counsel, and Programme Manager to improve processes, policies and systems across the charity; and
  • Work with staff and volunteers to provide advice and guidance on compliance-related issues that may arise.
  • Some experience in a relevant area of compliance, such as charity governance or information governance, is essential to this role. You will also receive guidance, mentorship and training from members of the Compliance Unit. The successful candidate will be highly organised, meticulous and precise, and comfortable working with modern technology such as cloud-based apps.

Research and awareness: As a Compliance Officer you will become increasingly familiar with matters relating to compliance as they impact CAA and its operations. You will be referred to for your opinion on how the organisation should adapt in accordance with regulatory guidance such as that issued by the Charity Commission. Document production: You will assist in devising materials and processes informing colleagues from across the organisation as to how they can operate in compliance with various regulations. You will be in weekly contact with colleagues to maintain an awareness of the ongoing and expanding operations of CAA to ensure that any compliance documentation is kept updated. Liaise with the Compliance Unit: You will maintain a close relationship with the other members of the Compliance Unit to ensure that we meet regulatory requirements, taking part in regular meetings with the Compliance Unit and the charity’s leadership, planning and ensuring attainment of compliance goals. Working with staff and volunteers: You will work closely with staff and volunteers from various teams across CAA, ensuring that all are kept informed as to requirements for regulatory compliance, inspiring attention to detail and an awareness of compliance-related issues. Your work will require you to prioritise effectively, think analytically and write and communicate persuasively and clearly. You will be a fast learner, who can rapidly develop practical solutions and operate with total discretion. You will have excellent interpersonal skills and be comfortable working as part of a growing team.
Event Monitor
Campaign Against Antisemitism (CAA) is the UK’s leading organisation fighting antisemitism nationwide. In order to ensure that the law, especially in relation to terrorism legislation, is enforced at protests, rallies and events around the country, we require Event Monitors to attend events and gather photographic or audio evidence of breaches of terrorism legislation and the International (IHRA) Definition of Antisemitism. As an Event Monitor you will:
  • Attend events around the country identified by our Event Monitoring team;
  • Gather photographic evidence of criminal activity, offences under terrorism legislation or breaches of the International Definition of Antisemitism; and
  • Rapidly submit this material back to our Event Monitoring team for it to be properly utilised by our Investigations and Enforcement Unit and Communications team.

Ideal candidates for this position are robust and confident, able to walk up to strangers and strike up conversation. Candidates must be keen to support CAA on the front lines, interacting with members of the public who may harbour antisemitic views whilst being careful to maintain composure and an incognito status at events. Candidates must have a good understanding of antisemitism, both historical and contemporary, along with familiarity with CAA’s goals as an organisation, capable of picking out items carefully in accordance with the International Definition of Antisemitism. Successful applicants do not require any experience in photography or technology, but must be able to operate smartphones and cameras fluently, taking high quality images with good focus in busy environments and quickly and discreetly feeding this information back to colleagues at CAA.
Incident Response Officer

Campaign Against Antisemitism (CAA) is the UK’s leading organisation fighting antisemitism nationwide. We aim to assist members of the British Jewish community in reporting antisemitic crime to the relevant authorities, pursuing criminal cases through to resolution, and offering a layer of support and a consistent point of contact for the victim.

Our volunteer Incident Response Officers work with victims and witnesses throughout the process. The people who contact our Incident Response Unit are often reaching out to us in a time of distress, and you will be the first person from CAA that they hear from, staying involved in each case and building a relationship.

We also offer support to members of the public who want to report antisemitic incidents of any kind, even if they are not criminal offences. This would include antisemitism in the traditional media, on social media, at university, in the workplace or in any other arena.

As an Incident Response Officer you will:

  • Respond to telephone calls and e-mails, liaising with members of the public who report or have experienced antisemitic crimes or abuse;
  • Gather and record evidence objectively using our cloud-based systems to properly log and catalogue cases raised through the Incident Response Unit;
  • Take part in fortnightly meetings to ensure that cases are properly dealt with in a professional and timely manner; and
  • Act as a consistent point of contact for members of the public who have witnessed or experienced antisemitism.

New volunteers in the Incident Response Unit do not necessarily require any particular experience, however you must be passionate about providing support to victims. All volunteers receive training in how to respond to different types of cases, and how to assist those who need our help.

Communication with witnesses and victims: Our Incident Response Officers are responsible for liaising with members of the public. You will have a high level of proficiency in English, be able to write clearly and precisely, and will have a friendly, empathetic and professional telephone manner.

Evidence analysis: You will be trained to assess and report antisemitic incidents, which will require you to become acquainted with numerous types of historical and contemporary antisemitism. You will need to be comfortable with modern technology such as social media platforms, which you may need to review to understand the full context of particular cases.

Being an active team member: Although this is a volunteer role with an expected weekly commitment requirement of two to five hours, the Incident Response Unit holds fortnightly meetings which you will need to attend as regularly as possible. Incident Response Officers act as consistent points of contact for cases that they handle, so although it is not required that you are active everyday, it will be important that you are able to make yourself available at multiple points throughout the week to ensure that victims and witnesses do not have to wait too long to receive updates from you as their cases progress.

Online Monitor

Campaign Against Antisemitism (CAA) is the UK’s leading organisation fighting antisemitism nationwide. In order to tackle a rise in antisemitic instances on social media, we require monitors for our Online Monitoring Team.

As an Online Monitor you will:

  • Conduct regular monitoring of social media sites and identify relevant cases for escalation;
  • Conduct deep-dive investigations into subjects of interest including individual social media accounts, online communities or online trends; and
  • Assist other teams within CAA when online investigative expertise is required.

Candidates for this position must be highly familiar with navigating the internet effectively and efficiently. Although specialist IT skills or a background in IT or computing are desirable, they are not at all required. Successful applicants will be quick learners, capable of adapting to new tools and able to produce meticulously precise reports. Candidates must have a good understanding of both historical and contemporary antisemitism.

PHP Developer

Campaign Against Antisemitism (CAA) is the UK’s leading organisation fighting antisemitism nationwide. In order to support the maintenance of our website that acts as the UK’s best interactive resource on antisemitism we require PHP developers.

As a PHP Developer you will:

  • Assist with the maintenance and improvement of our website and supportive systems; and
  • Take part in larger projects in collaboration with our Systems Unit that may relate to areas other than our public facing webpage.

Applicants for this position must be highly skilled in advanced web development and IT generally, familiar with coding languages such as PHP, HTML and CSS. Applicants must have the time and energy to take part in larger development projects in conjunction with our Systems Unit.

Proceedings Monitor

Campaign Against Antisemitism (CAA) is the UK’s leading organisation fighting antisemitism nationwide. We strive to hold public authorities to account in matters relating to antisemitism, ensuring that Britain continues to remain safe and hospitable to the Jewish community and that those who perpetrate antisemitic crimes face justice.

As a volunteer Proceedings Monitor you will support our Scrutiny Unit by monitoring how the Criminal Justice System handles cases of antisemitism. You will receive training on how criminal cases are investigated by the police and prosecuted by the Crown Prosecution Service.

You will help us to identify cases where public bodies have failed to adequately defend the British Jewish community, reporting directly to the Head of Scrutiny.

As Proceedings Monitor you will:

  • Monitor traditional and social media to identify relevant cases;
  • Maintain our record of active criminal cases in the UK, including by calling police forces and courts to inquire as to the status of investigations and prosecutions, and working with our Incident Response Unit to track cases in which we are more actively involved;
  • Manage our court diary and network of court reporters, and ensure that court hearings are attended; and
  • Update our investigations, enforcement, litigation and communications teams as cases progress.

You do not need to have formal experience in any area but do need to have an aptitude for administration and a passion for conducting independent research.

Media monitoring: You will monitor both traditional and social media to identify new cases and track existing ones, to ensure that other Units within CAA have the information that they need when they need it, including our Incident Response and communications team.
Data management: You will help to maintain our dynamic record of ongoing criminal cases. This requires attention to detail and a basic level of comfort dealing with data management software such as Excel. Our database needs to be continually updated to reflect the ongoing work of our Scrutiny Unit.

Court diary: In order to keep abreast of legal developments in particular cases of interest, and to hold the authorities to account, representatives of CAA must attend court hearings. We rely on a network of court reporters to do so, and your role will be to maintain and expand this network, update our court diary and ensure that hearings are attended.

Liaising with colleagues: You will keep various teams within CAA updated as cases progress, ensuring that all team members are aware of developments.

Proceedings Monitoring requires absolute discretion as to the details of work being conducted by the Scrutiny Unit and an understanding of the serious and highly sensitive nature of this work. The Scrutiny Unit provides vital monitoring and research to inform the charity’s campaigns, policy and public awareness of antisemitism. You must be happy working in a supportive rather than frontline role.

Public Liaison Officer

Campaign Against Antisemitism (CAA) is the UK’s leading organisation fighting antisemitism nationwide. In order to ensure that we keep up to date with the growing volume of queries that we receive, we require Public Liaison Officers who can communicate with members of the public, ensuring that their messages are dealt with in a timely manner and ensuring that correspondence reaches the appropriate unit within CAA.

As Public Liaison Officer you will:

  • Respond to queries received via e-mail and into the inboxes of the various social media accounts we operate;
  • Operate telephone lines and receive calls from members of the public who make contact with CAA; and
  • Moderate the comments sections of our social media accounts and remove inappropriate material and instances of abuse.

Candidates must be well spoken with a native level of fluency in written English. Candidates must be patient and courteous, capable of dealing with potentially difficult callers whilst maintaining composure and offering a professional level of support and service. Candidates must have a high level of attention to detail, capable of maintaining absolute accuracy in written responses to queries, and an awareness of when they need to ask for guidance. Successful applicants must also have a keen awareness of antisemitism, both historical and contemporary, and whilst a high level of IT proficiency is not required, candidates must be comfortable navigating cloud-based systems, web-platforms and social media platforms. We are open to applicants who only wish to work on one or some of e-mail, telephone and social media but not all.

Social Media Monitor

Campaign Against Antisemitism (CAA) is the UK’s leading organisation fighting antisemitism nationwide. We require dedicated Social Media Monitors.

As a Social Media Monitor you will:

  • Monitor and moderate comments on our Social Media Platforms including X, YouTube Videos, Facebook, Tik Tok and Instagram.


Applicants must be organised and good at prioritising workload and have excellent judgement. They will require significant experience with at least one of these social media platforms, and will be designated to the platform(s) with which they are familiar.

Systems Support Administrator

Campaign Against Antisemitism (CAA) is the UK’s leading organisation fighting antisemitism nationwide. In order to support our Systems team and continue to enhance our operations, we require Systems Support Administrators.

As a Systems Support Administrator you will:

  • Assist with general processes within CAA utilising cloud-based services and web-platforms;
  • Assist with tasks as they arise within the Systems unit;
  • Help to manage our Systems inbox and assist with the general upkeep of CAA systems; and
  • Assist our large network of volunteers with technical support.


Applicants for the position of Systems Support Administrator do not require any particular professional background but must be highly IT-literate and extremely quick to learn new tools. Applicants must be patient and able to offer technical support empathetically and effectively to a large volume of volunteers who may not be especially versed in navigating IT issues and cloud-based systems. Successful candidates will be highly precise and capable of conducting work in a highly specific manner.
