The University has adopted the International Definition of Antisemitism in full, including all the examples.
The University said that the Definition was adopted on 28th April 2021.
This information was obtained after Campaign Against Antisemitism submitted a request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 on 14th July 2020. On 29th September 2020, the University responded. On 30th June 2021 and 13th July 2021, the University updated its response.
The University published a statement on its website on an unknown date in 2021. The University has told Campaign Against Antisemitism that: “…we can confirm that this has been adopted [the examples], however, we think what has happened is that the person posting it has truncated the statement. We will ensure this is corrected.”
When asked on 9th August 2020, University of East London Students’ Union failed to confirm whether it has adopted the International Definition of Antisemitism.
