Leeds Arts University

University Definition adopted

The University has adopted the International Definition of Antisemitism in full, including all of its examples.

The Definition was adopted on 3rd June 2020.

The University has told Campaign Against Antisemitism that: “All of our staff undertake mandatory EDI training on a rolling basis, which is managed through HR. All senior managers have received training from the National Union of Jewish Students. This is being rolled out across other staff groups with a session being run for our Course Leaders and staff from HR and the Student’s Union.”

This information was obtained after Campaign Against Antisemitism submitted a request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 on 16th June 2026. On 1st July 2026, the University responded with an update on 9th July 2026.

As part of its response, the University provided its Equality Diversity and Inclusion Policy dated June 2020, updated November 2023, which shows that the Definition was included within the policy.

When asked about adoption of the International Definition of Antisemitism on 3rd August 2020, Leeds Arts Union referred to the University’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Policy.
