The University has told Campaign Against Antisemitism that it has adopted the International Definition of Antisemitism in full, including all of its examples. It has not provided evidence to support its claim.
The Definition was adopted on 2nd December 2019.
The University has told Campaign Against Antisemitism that it does not apply the Definition in disciplinary matters, confirming that: “[the Definition]…is not included in the Student Disciplinary Regulations. However due regard would be given to it by those investigating any cases.”
This information was obtained after Campaign Against Antisemitism submitted a request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 on 15th July 2020. On 18th September 2020, the University responded.
When asked on 11th August 2020, University of Surrey Students’ Union failed to confirm whether it has adopted the International Definition of Antisemitism.
