Al Quds Day March banned

Al Quds Day March 2017

The Al Quds Day March has been banned.

The organisers – the so-called Islamic Human Rights Commission – have blamed the ‘Zionist lobby’ for the decision and will be holding a static protest instead.

This is a positive development and a move that Campaign Against Antisemitism and others, including a number of MPs, have been calling for because allowing this hate-fest to go ahead would have sent the message that Islamists rule the roost in Britain.

In the past, this march, instituted by the late Ayatollah in 1979, has seen participants march under official banners stating ‘We are all Hizballah’ and even blaming ‘Zionists’ for the Grenfell tower tragedy.

We hope that this ban signals a change in approach to Iranian-linked activity in our country. Now, the Government must tackle Iran’s infrastructure in the UK, starting by banning its Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organisation.

We have long called for a ban, and thousands have already signed our petition at antisemitism.org/BanTheIRGC – add your name to urge our authorities to action.
