Jordan announces ban on Muslim Brotherhood

Jordan has announced a ban on the Muslim Brotherhood.

Hamas, an antisemitic genocidal terrorist group, is an offshoot of the Society of the Muslim Brothers, popularly known as the Muslim Brotherhood.

Whilst Hamas currently is proscribed in full in the UK as a terrorist group, the Muslim Brotherhood is not. Our representative polling shows that more than four-fifths (85%) of British Jews think that the British Government should proscribe the Muslim Brotherhood.

The Muslim Brotherhood is proscribed in a number of countries, now including Jordan, where the Interior Minister has announced on television that membership of the Brotherhood has been prohibited and all of its offices in the Kingdom have been closed.
