The University has adopted the International Definition of Antisemitism in full, including all of its examples.
The Definition was adopted on 12th August 2020 by the University Executive Board.
The University has told Campaign Against Antisemitism that: “This position was discussed by the University Senate on 23 June 2021 and the University Senate agreed to endorse the position reflected in the published statement and to recommend that Council similarly adopt the statement.” As at 1st July 2021, the University Council had not met.
This information was obtained after Campaign Against Antisemitism submitted a request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 on 14th July 2020. On 17th August 2020, the University responded. On 1st July 2021, the University updated its response.
Additionally, the University published a statement on its website as part of its Equality Policies, in July 2021.
When asked on 8th August 2020, the University of Bradford Union of Students failed to confirm whether it has adopted the International Definition of Antisemitism.
