City University of London and St George’s, University of London merged on 1 August 2024 and are now known as City St George’s, University of London (the University).
The University recognises the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance Definition but has not adopted the Definition.
The University told Campaign Against Antisemitism : “…policies on the University’s website are current, but are those of the legacy City, University of London. All policies are subject to review and re-development as part of the integration within City St George’s, University of London, and a review of this policy will occur in due course… We do not have a confirmed timeline for this review.”
This information was obtained after Campaign Against Antisemitism submitted a request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 on 28th October 2025. On 26th November 2025, the University responded.
The University provided minutes of a Senate meeting on 17th March 2021 as background to the University’s position on the Definition
When asked on 25th July 2020, City Students’ Union failed to confirm whether it has adopted the International Definition of Antisemitism. On 29th March 2021, the Students’ Union voted to reject the Definition in a campus-wide referendum.
