The University has adopted the International Definition of Antisemitism in full, including all of its examples.
The Definition was adopted on an unknown date in May 2024.
The University has told Campaign Against Antisemitism: “[the] decision was taken by the Vice-Chancellor following various internal discussions”.
This information was obtained after Campaign Against Antisemitism submitted a request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 on 21st September 2026. On 8th October 2026, the University responded.
As part of its response, the University provided Student Conduct Policy, which shows that the Definition was adopted.
When asked on 5th August 2020, Oxford Brookes Students’ Union confirmed that it adopted the International Definition of Antisemitism on 24th October 2018 with a review due in three years.
No incidents have been reported to us, however we recognise that antisemitism is chronically underreported and it is possible that there are incidents that have not been reported. To report an incident, please contact us.
