The University has adopted the International Definition of Antisemitism in full, including all of its examples.
The Definition was adopted on 24th June 2020.
The University has told Campaign Against Antisemitism that: “…the University uses the definitions of “discrimination” which has (sic) been formally adopted by the UK government. The University’s Senate approved the changes to the definition of Discrimination in the Student Regulations in June 2020.”
This information was obtained after Campaign Against Antisemitism submitted a request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 on 14th July 2020. On 10th August 2020, the University responded. On 1st November 2021, the University updated its response and again on 8th March 2022.
When asked on 9th August 2020, Huddersfield Students’ Union failed to confirm whether it has adopted the International Definition of Antisemitism.
