The University has not adopted the International Definition of Antisemitism.
This information was obtained after Campaign Against Antisemitism submitted a request under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 on 14th June 2023. On 29th June 2023, the University responded.
The University has told Campaign Against Antisemitism: “The University’s position has not changed any since our previous response to your information request in June 2023. As noted on our website, the University does not endorse a single definition – attention is merely drawn to the IHRA [sic] and JDA [sic] as resources that may aid understanding. This information is available on our web pages at: What is antisemitism? -Report + Support – University of St Andrews and Our commitments – About – University of St Andrews.”.
This information was obtained after Campaign Against Antisemitism submitted a request under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 on 20th August 2026. On 17th September 2026, the University responded.
When asked on 11th August 2020, University of St Andrews Students’ Association failed to confirm whether it has adopted the International Definition of Antisemitism.
