University of Ulster

University Definition not adopted

The University has not adopted the International Definition of Antisemitism.

The University told Campaign Against Antisemitism: “…Ulster University follows guidance issued by the Equality Commission for Northern Ireland. The University has not considered adopting the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance’s definition of antisemitism.”

This information was obtained after Campaign Against Antisemitism submitted a request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 on 19th August 2026. On 21st August 2026, the University responded.

When asked on 7th August 2020, Ulster University Students’ Union confirmed that it had not adopted the International Definition of Antisemitism but did adopt a deficient definition by the controversial academic Dr Brian Klug on 9th February 2017.
