Violent assault in Golders Green
A violent assault took place in Golders Green in the early hours of last Monday morning.
At approximately 02:00, a 22-year-old Jewish man stepped outside his apartment to make a phone call. While speaking Hebrew, he was allegedly targeted by five masked men who chased him, dragged him across the road and subjected him to a brutal assault. During the attack, the assailants reportedly tore his clothes, threw away his shoes and shouted abuse in Arabic.
The victim was left close to losing consciousness.
Police were called by a neighbour who heard the disturbance, but the suspects fled before officers arrived and have not yet been identified. If anyone has any information, please get in touch with us or the Metropolitan Police service.
We sat down with the victim.
This is his account of what happened.
This attack comes just weeks after two Jewish men were stabbed in Golders Green and a series of arson attacks, as well as years of escalating attacks in Stamford Hill and neighbourhoods in Manchester, and it is plain for all to see that Jewish lives are under threat in their own communities.
We cannot wait any longer for real intervention against this horrific wave of violence against Britain’s Jews. We are in dire need of urgent action.
CAA’s Chief Executive spoke to ITV News about the incident.
A Jewish festival means another attack, this time in Hendon
The Jewish festival of Shavuot fell at the end of last week and over the weekend.
This being modern Britain, that was occasion for another alleged antisemitic attack.
A German man has now appeared in court charged with assault after two Jewish men were allegedly attacked outside a synagogue in Hendon, north London while attending Shavuot services. Congregants reportedly apprehend and restrained an attacker who is said to have started assaulting members of the congregation at random. No one was seriously injured but a man was apparently left with cuts and bruises after he was punched in the face, breaking his glasses.
Scarcely a day now passes without reports of another attack on Jews simply going about their lives. This latest attack comes amidst continued incitement against Jews and a week after a hate march past a synagogue last weekend.
The Government can promise all of the extra policing and security funding that they like but it will not stop these thugs if the incitement continues. Allowing last weekend’s hate march is exactly the kind of test that the Government and Met Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley keep failing.
Jews cannot live like this.
The situation is untenable. It is past time for the Government to show leadership by banning the hate marches, tackling the radicalisation of Britain’s youth, and proscribing dangerous foreign networks like the Muslim Brotherhood and IRGC, as a start. The Government is on borrowed time to act.
Identifying hateful marchers
We believe that this woman has been seen at previous protests, in Liverpool and London.
If anyone has any further information about her, please e–mail us at [email protected].
Meanwhile, we understand that this individual from last weekend’s march and other demonstrations has now been arrested in Plymouth.
Here he is on another occasion showing support for Palestine Action.
Let us hope that any penalties he faces are sufficient to deter more of the same
The man in this video was seen at the Unite the Kingdom rally last weekend, where he spewed a number of grotesque conspiracies and remarks about Jews
“Whether it’s Israel or the f***king Jews, f*** both of them. Zionism, they’re the f***ing devils.”
Do you recognise him?
We believe that the Met Police may also be seeking to identify him, as his image appears on a November 2023 appeals page from Operation Brocks, the police operation to identify persons of interest in relation to hate marches in central London.

Threats to behead Jews, and other alleged assaults
Muhammed Rachid, 18, has pleaded not guilty to causing racially aggravated harassment, alarm or distress with threatening or abusive words or behaviour, in relation to a video in which a man appears to threaten to behead Jews.
Mr Rachid has reportedly been bailed until he is scheduled to appear at a hearing at Snaresbrook Crown Court on 16th June. Additionally, he has been banned from being within 100 yards of any synagogue, is not allowed to enter the Stamford Hill area of London and is also not allowed to attend his own mosque. Mr Rachid is banned from posting on social media and has been told to sleep each night at his home address.
The double standard is extraordinary. If you threaten people online, you get severely punished and remanded. If you threaten to behead people in the street, you get bail. This is two tiers of justice.
In a separate case, which saw swifter justice, Tavius Jean Charles, 36, was jailed for five years after pleading guilty to eight offences against six victims of religiously aggravated threatening behaviour and religiously aggravated criminal damage between October 2025 and March 2026.
In one of the incidents, which occurred in north London, Mr Jean Charles shouted “I will kill you Jews” towards a Jewish man. In another, he was spotted outside a synagogue and taking photographs of it, before shouting “Jew, I’m going to kill you” at one of the attendees.
He was also handed a restraining order banning him from entering the Stamford Hill area and from contacting victims. He was also ordered to pay him £25 compensation, although the attack itself caused damage totalling £205.
We welcome this custodial sentence. It is past time to show antisemitic criminals that their conduct will be ruinous for them.
Meanwhile, a nurse has reportedly been struck off following incendiary comments made about Jews. Helen Oluyemisi Balogun appeared at a Nursing and Midwifery Council tribunal after concerns were raised about comments she had made in reference to Jewish patients.
The panel heard that Ms Balogun referred to a Jewish patient as being “tight with money”, which “correlated with him being Jewish”, making the same remark about another Jewish patient another time. You can read more about the case here.
The uncertainty of justice in the case of antisemitic criminals is bad enough. Coupled with the injustice of prosecutors pursuing non-Jews who stand against antisemitism, it is downright outrageous.
Mark Birbeck, founder of Our Fight UK, held up a sign calling Hamas terrorists at a Palestine protest. He was arrested and falsely accused of assaulting two emergency workers. Just two days before trial – in a case in which CAA was supporting him – the Crown Prosecution Service suddenly revealed it had been sitting on video footage that cleared him all along, and they dropped the case.
This is Mark’s story.
Antisemitic car ramming or just bad driving?
Watch the white Mercedes Benz saloon car in these videos from Salford.
At first, it looks like it might try to undertake the red van, but then it parks. As soon as a family of Jewish people – including small children – start to cross the road, it sets off again and then appears to speed up as it draws near to them, possibly even slightly swerving in their direction.
There have been other allegations of attempted car rammings, in north London.
On this occasion, Greater Manchester Police say that they have arrested a 49-year-old man on suspicion of dangerous driving and said that this was an isolated incident with no wider threat to the public.
Regardless, the fact that it is even plausibly an attempted antisemitic car ramming is a distressing indictment of modern Britain.
Nazi salutes in drama class, but this is no act
Nazi salutes during drama class, and then in the playground.
A class Snapchat group name changed to “F*** Israel, Heil Hitler”.
Voice notes accusing a Jewish classmate of being a paedophile “who thinks he can get away with it because he’s a Jew”.
That is just a sample of abuse at only one London secondary school detailed in a new report.
“He lost trust in his teachers. He got to the point that he felt there was no point complaining about the behaviour because nothing was done.”
Jewish children are going through a similar experience to their parents: seeing the authorities fail them, the bullies emboldened and the antisemitism becoming progressively worse.
The difference is that teachers have a duty of care toward their pupils. They are failing in that duty.
CAA’s Director of Investigations and Enforcement appeared on GB News to talk about antisemitism in our schools.
Bad business and good business
At a recent pro-Palestine demonstration, clothing featuring an inverted red triangle was being sold.
The inverted triangle and its emoji variant have been used by some anti-Israel activists to signal support for proscribed terrorist organisations such as Hamas, inspired by the appearance of the symbol in Hamas propaganda videos to indicate targets for attack.
This is deplorable and clearly underlines that this is not, and never was, a march for peace.
That’s bad business. But in good business news, the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) and the Confederation of British Industry (CBI), Britain’s leading business organisations, have signed a joint letter vowing to take action against antisemitism in the workplace and to support their Jewish employees.
Both organisations are made up of major industry bodies representing millions of UK employees, and which through this initiative recognise the unprecedented rise of antisemitism in recent months which requires direct action.
The Chief Executive of the CBI has stated that the letter “sets out clear commitments to educate, support and act, so that Jewish colleagues feel safe, respected and valued at work.”
This is a welcome initiative. Antisemitism is creeping into every sector of British society, including our workplaces, and it must be tackled head-on.
Meanwhile, CAA has introduced new tote bags to our line of merchandise!
Now you can carry the message of “Justice, justice you shall pursue” everywhere you go!
Another Green Party scandal relating to Jews
Less than twelve hours after being announced as the Green candidate in the Makerfield by-election, Chris Kennedy withdrew.
The Green Party said that it was for family reasons. It soon transpired that he had posted a conspiracy theory that the ambulance arson in Golders Green had been a ‘false flag’ operation.
The Green Party said that Mr Kennedy “apologises for the offence caused” and had deleted the posts.
But another potential Green candidate for the by-election, Hayley Pierce, reportedly claimed that the Jewish state is “ruining the world” and shared a number of inflammatory videos from Bob Vylan and others.
The Greens must confront this problem in their Party if they want to make clear that these views are not welcome.
Thank you for funding the fight!
To the nearly 2,000 people who generously donated almost £500,000 (and counting) during our Fund the Fight campaign on CharityExtra, thank you! Here is a message from our Chief Executive.
Your donations will now be doubled by matching donors. With your help we will continue to jail antisemites, force the Government and police into action, secure front-page headlines, drive the national agenda, take the fight to social media, deliver critical insights to policymakers, empower students on campus, educate the next generation, provide free legal representation and support to victims and more.
During this fundraising campaign we received so many comments along with the donations that showed that your support was not just financial – it is a vote of confidence in what we do at CAA. Most heartening of all was perhaps to see how many people from beyond the Jewish community gave their generous support. We are not alone and we are extremely grateful to everyone who is standing with us.
For those who haven’t donated yet but mean to, it is not yet too late.
Thank you for your support!
