The Council has adopted the International Definition of Antisemitism in full, including all of its examples.
The Definition was adopted on 20th February 2020.
The Council has told Campaign Against Antisemitism that adoption included all the illustrative examples.
This information was obtained after Campaign Against Antisemitism submitted a request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 on 12th August 2021, to which the Council responded on 27th August 2021.
As part of its response, the Council provided minutes of a Council meeting on 20th February 2020, which show that the Definition was adopted.
On 1st April 2023, the Council will be replaced by North Yorkshire Council (covering Craven District, Hambleton District, Harrogate Borough, North Yorkshire County Council, Richmondshire District, Ryedale District, Scarborough Borough and Selby District Councils).
