We’re recruiting!

Bookkeeper

Campaign Against Antisemitism (CAA) is the UK’s leading organisation fighting antisemitism nationwide.

We are seeking a volunteer bookkeeper who can assist our finance team in maintaining our bank records on a weekly basis, and preparing Gift Aid claims.

As a volunteer Bookkeeper you will:

  • Assist with regular bookkeeping such as bank statement reconciliation and preparing and submitting Gift Aid claims;
  • Respond to accounts payable enquiries via e-mail;
  • Report to our Head of Finance and work alongside our Payroll Bookkeeper and Accounts Receivable Bookkeeper; and
  • Come into our London based office for around two hours every week or every fortnight.

The ideal candidate has some experience in bookkeeping and using Xero accounting software, however this is not entirely necessary as extensive training will be provided. Applicants should at least have a decent level of computer literacy.

Assist with regular finance admin: Our finance team requires assistance from a volunteer bookkeeper who is able to assist with regular weekly bookkeeping tasks. This requires a keen eye for detail, a cautious and thorough working approach, a professional attitude, an awareness of the importance of avoiding errors in financial records and enough time to dedicate around two hours per week in order to complete tasks.

Respond to accounts payable enquiries: Inform suppliers when their invoices have been paid and handle queries from them via e-mail.

Report to our Head of Finance: As volunteer Bookkeeper you will report directly to and receive support from our Head of Finance. You will also receive support from our Payroll Bookkeeper and Accounts Receivable Bookkeeper. Although you need only dedicate a few hours per week, you would also need to be reachable on occasion during the week. This is conducted via our cloud-based communications application so in addition to conducting weekly bookkeeping work, you would be part of the CAA community.

Attend our London based office: To facilitate collaboration with our office-based staff, you would need to complete work from our central London office around once every two weeks, however we very much respect and are grateful for your time dedicated as a volunteer so this would be a very flexible arrangement.

Please only apply for this role if you are able to dedicate around two hours each week during office hours on a regular weekly basis.
