CAA Security Officer

Campaign Against Antisemitism (CAA) is the UK’s leading organisation fighting antisemitism nationwide. As the foremost organisation taking a stand against antisemitism and anti-Jewish hatred, we face unique security challenges that differ from those of other charities. We require a Security Officer to ensure that security requirements are met across our organisation and make sure that all of our dedicated volunteers and events that we hold are safe.

As Security Officer you will:

  • Organise security for our office, events, protests and rallies, ensuring that security teams are adequately staffed, organised and informed;
  • Help to build and maintain our contacts among security volunteers so that adequate teams can be formed at short notice and be ready to react quickly to changing circumstances;
  • Assist with screening new volunteers; and
  • Initiate and maintain relationships with relevant Jewish organisations and local police contacts.

Applicants for this position must be confident and effective leaders, capable of coordinating and managing larger teams in tense situations. Applicants must be aware of the unique security challenges faced by CAA and dedicated to providing effective security for our charity, potentially undertaking work at short notice and consistently seeing assigned tasks through to completion. Although no particular professional background is required for applicants for this position, candidates with a background in security, policing, IT or defence are particularly sought.
