Every year, we reach thousands of people through our work in education and outreach. We have become a go-to educator in the field of antisemitism, providing teaching and training at schools, universities and professional, law enforcement and governmental institutions across the UK. We have also become a trusted provider of teaching resources, as well as support and advocacy services for students of all ages.
Since Hamas launched their 7th October terrorist attack, antisemitism at schools and universities has skyrocketed. Campuses have fast become a notorious breeding ground for the spread of antisemitism that we have seen across the UK. Schoolchildren have been exposed to antisemitic bullying online and in some cases threatened outside their school gates. The levels of intimidation targeting Jewish students, attacks on Jewish identity, calls for violence and endorsement of terror organisations has meant that students are now facing the worst rise in antisemitism on record.
Campaign Against Antisemitism is seeking an Education and Outreach Intern to support our work fighting antisemitism on campuses, supporting students and empowering our young Jewish community by:
- Supporting and developing our campus relationships: Engaging with Jewish university students and relevant stakeholder groups on campus, offering and showcasing our support to Jewish and non-Jewish students combating antisemitism.
- Monitoring the situation on campus: Gathering evidence at problematic demonstrations and lectures, ensuring CAA is up-to-date with the climate university students are facing and offering assistance from CAA if needed.
- Engaging in outreach: Staffing stalls at community events, showcasing the work of CAA and being a friendly face to the community keen to hear more about our work or receive our support.
- Educating in schools: Helping to deliver educational sessions at Jewish and non-Jewish schools, introducing students to the work of CAA more broadly and assisting in CAA’s work to prepare sixth-form students ahead of their transition to university.
CAA has a strong reputation for its work on university campuses. This is an exciting opportunity to provide extensive support to Jewish and non-Jewish students combating antisemitism and gain crucial experience to become an proficient antisemitism educator at a time when university students and staff need it the most.
