Ottawa educational assistant reported to have praised terrorists
An Educational Assistant at a school in Ottawa has reportedly praised terrorists on social media.
The media watchdog, Honest Reporting, has uncovered a number of historic online posts that appear to have been published by Abeer Mousa.
According to the expose, Ms Mousa posted a photo of Karim Younis earlier this year at Mr Younis’ mother’s grave following his release from prison. Mr Younis’ imprisonment followed his conviction for the kidnapping and murder of Israeli soldier Avraham Bromberg in 1983.
In another post from 2018, Ms Mousa appears to praise Dalal Mughrabi in Arabic as a “martyr” who “proved to the whole world that women are equal to men in sacrifice and self-sacrificing.”
Ms Mughrabi was a Lebanese member of the Fatah faction of the Palestinian Liberation Organisation. She was involved in a notorious attack in Israel in 1978, in which a group of terrorists hijacked a bus with the goal of reaching the Israeli Knesset. The operation left 38 Israelis dead, which included thirteen children.
In response to a tweet about the murder of the nineteen-year-old Israeli soldier, Omri Levy, Ms Mousa reportedly wrote in Arabic: “and hopefully [also] his father, his family and his entire people. May Allah burn them.”
In another alleged post in Arabic from 2014, Ms Mousa appears to have written: “This enemy [Israel] doesn’t understand but the fight, the rifle, the stone, the car-ramming, the stabbing and the homeland [Palestine] will not be liberated without that. The rest is absolutely empty talk.”
